Memories of Wizard of Oz (1973)

Information

Wizard of Oz, was a Musical directed by Mary Kelley.

It ran from 22nd January to 3rd February 1971. It was one on Mary Kelley's favourite shows and would undoubtedly rate in the top ten of HATS's productions. We even had, like the London Palladium, a revolving bridge. It was a show where it all happened off stage as well as on - on the last day Rob and Sue Painter got married. The wedding was at midday as they had a matinee and evening show to do - now that's commitment! On the last night of this show James Crumblehulme was presented with his NODA (National Operatic & Dramatic Association) long service medal for 50 years service to the amateur stage.

Cast, includes (amongst others)

Dorothy, Tin Man, Scarecrow and Lion - Annette Dennis, Chris Medland, Malcolm Frazer and Bill Crumblehulme respectively were outstanding as were the entire cast.
